Rosso Cònero

Named Rosso Conero DOC are Italian red wines designated. They are grown in the province of Ancona , Marche region. The wine has had a "controlled designation of origin " (Denominazione di origine controllata - DOC ) since 1967 , which was last updated on March 7, 2014.

The red wine must consist of at least 85% Montepulciano grapes . A maximum of 15% other red grape varieties that are approved for cultivation in the Marche region may be added.

Cultivation

Cultivation and vinification of these wines are only permitted in the province of Ancona in the Marche region . The authorized municipalities are: Ancona , Offagna , Camerano , Sirolo , Numana and parts of the municipalities of Castelfidardo and Osimo . The wine grows on the chalky clay soil on the slopes of the 572 m high Monte Conero south of Ancona.

In 2016, around 11,370 hectoliters of DOC wine were produced from 125 hectares.
