The Route 8 or R8 is a highway in the Sultanate of Oman . The R8 is equipped with one lane for each lane. Instead of R8, the name “Sohar-Yanqul Road” is common.
Course in the Shamal al-Batina region
Route 8 begins in Sohar on Sohar R / A and node on Route 1 . To the south the R1 leads to Sib and Muscat , to the north further to Schinas and the border with the United Arab Emirates . There are very few small settlements on Route 8 for 35 kilometers. The village of Hail is the first large settlement after the aforementioned 35 kilometers. After another 10 kilometers there is a junction on Route 8. Several wadis flow in this region, so it is perfect for agriculture.

10 kilometers after the border with the az-Zahira region lies the village of al-Wuqba, with only settlements scattered across the country in between. The small town of Yanqul is 35 kilometers after al-Wuqbah and al-Masarra . With 9,000 inhabitants, Yanqul is the second largest city in the az-Zahira region, after Ibri . Before reaching Yanqul, the R8 runs straight through Inner Oman. There is a fork in Yanqul where a road leads 30 kilometers through a barren landscape to the small town of Dank . Route 8 continues to the southeast. Chadal is 20 kilometers after Yanqul. After a further 15 kilometers, Route 8 ends at the junction with Route 9 . Here is the place ad-Dariz .
