Otto Friedrich Rudolf Freiherr von Maltzahn (born December 7, 1794 in Rottmannshagen , † October 12, 1868 in Wiesbaden ) was a Pomeranian manor owner and Prussian politician.

Life

Rudolf von Maltzahn (No. 973 of the gender census ) came from the so-called Old House Kummerow of the Maltzahn family and was the fourth son of Albrecht Joachim von Maltzahn (1762–1828), from 1797 as owner of the Ivenack Majorate Reichsgraf von Plessen , from his second Marriage to Amelie Countess von Schwerin [-Wolfshagen]. In Ivenack he was tutored by private tutors together with his younger brother Karl von Maltzahn .

Rudolf von Maltzahn entered the Prussian military service in 1813, took part in the wars of liberation and in 1820 ended his military career as Rittmeister . In 1828 he took over the Kummerow estate with Maxfelde and Axelhof. From 1851 to 1856 he was elected to the provincial assembly of the province of Pomerania by the knighthood of Altvorpommern (10th to 13th provincial assembly). From 1852 to 1854 he was a member of the First Chamber of the Prussian State Parliament . In 1854 he became a member of the newly formed Prussian manor house , to which he belonged until his death, upon presentation of the old and fortified properties in the Duchy of Stettin . He was also the royal chamberlain .

He married Caroline von Kracker (1802–1875) in Munich in 1823 . The marriage had 12 children, of whom five sons and three daughters survived their father.
