Rudolf Müller (politician, 1912)
Rudolf Müller (born November 27, 1912 in Opole ; † January 3, 2009 ) was a German CSU politician . He was district administrator of the former district of Berchtesgaden (1964–1972), then first district administrator of the newly formed district of Berchtesgadener Land (1972–1978). As a trainee lawyer in 1945, he was the interpreter for the then District Administrator Karl Theodor Jacob when the Berchtesgadener Land was handed over to the Americans without a fight.
Life
Müller came from Opole. He studied in Thuringia jurisprudence . He initially completed his studies with the first state examination and doctorate . He then came to the Berchtesgaden District Court as a trainee lawyer and also had other positions in the region that he already knew from vacation. On May 4, 1945, District Administrator Karl Theodor Jacob brought him in as an interpreter for the surrender of the southern Berchtesgaden district without a fight. He then appointed him as district syndic and deputy district administrator. During the occupation, Müller worked as a defense attorney before the military tribunal and the ruling chambers . When the Americans released the German judiciary, he passed the second state examination in Munich and settled in Berchtesgaden as a lawyer . He continued to do this well into old age after his work as a district administrator. The married father of three daughters lived in Bischofswiesen .
politics
Müller was one of the founding members of the CSU in Berchtesgaden and was elected to the district council of the Berchtesgaden district for the first time in the first post-war election in 1946. From 1960 to 1964 he was deputy district administrator. In 1964 he was elected district administrator. In 1972, after the regional reform , he was elected in the runoff election to the district administrator of the Berchtesgaden district, the southern part of the Laufen district and the previously independent city of Bad Reichenhall, the newly formed district of Berchtesgadener Land. He held the office until 1978. At the same time he was chairman of the foundation council of the Berchtesgadener Landesstiftung ("Kehlsteinstiftung") and chairman of the Berchtesgadener Land tourism association and later also deputy chairman of the Munich-Upper Bavaria tourism association. During his tenure, the district built the Königssee ice rink . Territorial reform and the establishment of a national park had to be managed. As a district administrator, he opposed the national park.

Müller was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit, 1st class .
