Rudy Zini (born July 7, 1988 in Tirano ) is an Italian biathlete .

Rudy Zini lives in Livigno and has been part of the Italian national squad as a sports soldier since 2007 . He started in 2006 in the Biathlon European Cup for Juniors. The first major event was the 2008 Junior World Championships in Ruhpolding . In his native Italy, Zini was 19th in the individual, 43rd in the sprint, 36th in the pursuit and eighth in the relay. Shortly afterwards, he also took part in the European Junior Biathlon Championships in 2008 in Nové Město na Moravě and was 49th of the individual, 45th in sprint and pursuit and 12th in the relay race. Also in 2009 in Canmore , the Italian took part in the Junior World Championships. Again he was used in all four races, was 36th in the individual, 19th in the sprint, 18th in the pursuit and seventh in the relay. At the Italian youth and junior championships he won the sprint titles in Brusson and the mass start in Ridanna in 2007, and in 2008 he was runner-up in the pursuit in Forni Avoltri .

Also in the performance area, Zini was able to achieve successes for the first time at the national championships in 2009 , after having entered the year before without achieving any results worth mentioning. After he finished seventh in the mass start, he won the relay title a day later alongside Christian De Lorenzi and Stefan Zingerle . They started as the B-season of their club CS Esercito and relegated the A-season with René-Laurent Vuillermoz , Nicola Pozzi and Markus Windisch to second place. Zini has been a member of Italy's B national squad since the 2009/19 season . In Ridnaun he debuted in 2009 with a single in the IBU Cup and won 24 equal points. For the first time in the top ten, he ran eighth in a sprint in Obertilliach the following season . This was followed by the debut at a major international event with the 2011 European Biathlon Championships in Ridanna. Zini was 23rd in the individual and seventh in the relay with Daniel Taschler , Dominik Windisch and Pietro Dutto . In the further course of the year he also started in Martell at the Summer Biathlon European Championships 2011 and finished 18th in the sprint and sixth with Karin Oberhofer , Alexia Runggaldier and Dominik Windisch in the mixed relay.
