Runowo Pomorskie (German Ruhnow-Bahnhof ) is a village in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship and belongs to the urban and rural municipality Węgorzyno ( Wangerin ) in the Łobez ( Labes ) district.

Geographical location

Runowo Pomorskie - the place name Runowo is common in Poland - is located in the northwest of the small town of Węgorzyno ( Wangerin ) and only two kilometers southeast of the place of the same name Runowo . The Polish state road 20 , the course of which here corresponds to the former German Reichsstraße 158 , can be reached in two kilometers. Runowo Pomorskie is a station on the two state railway lines Stargard Szczeciński – Gdańsk ( Stargard in Pomerania – Danzig ) and Chojnice – Runowo Pomorskie ( Konitz in West Prussia – Ruhnow ).

history

Until 1945, Ruhnow-Bahnhof was a village in the municipality of Ruhnow (now in Polish: Runowo). in the district of Regenwalde (seat in Labes ) in the administrative district of Köslin in the Prussian province of Pomerania .

When the construction of the railway line from Stargard in Pomerania to Danzig began in 1859 , the city of Wangerin (Węgorzyno) was to receive a railway station. Its inhabitants refused, however, and so the station in Ruhnow, today's Runowo Pomorskie, was built. In 1877 this was also the end point of a railway line from Konitz in West Prussia to Ruhnow , although Wangerin accepted a railway station along the route. Ruhnow as a railway junction attracted numerous workers, who u. a. settled near the train station and led to the increase in the number of this district.

Railway Station (2014)

When in 1945 the municipality of Ruhnow became Polish under the name Runowo , the district Ruhnow-Bahnhof was divided under the name Runowo Pomorskie. Today, both places each represent their own " Schulzenamt " (sołectwo) within the Gmina Węgorzyno in the Powiat Łobeski in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship (1975-1998 Szczecin Voivodeship ). More than 500 inhabitants live in Runowo Pomorskie today.

church

In terms of church structure, Ruhnow (town) and Ruhnow train station were already separated before 1945. While Ruhnow (place) formed its own Protestant parish in the parish of Freienwalde (today in Polish: Chociwel), Ruhnow-Bahnhof was parish in the parish of Wangerin (Węgorzyno) in the parish of Labes (Łobez) in the eastern district of the church province of Pomerania of the church of the Old Prussian Union . Due to the influx of over 500 people, there was soon a sermon site in Ruhnow-Bahnhof.

Church (2014)

After 1945 Runowo Pomorskie, like Runowo, became its own Catholic parish, which belongs to the deanery Łobez ( Labes ) in the Archdiocese of Stettin-Cammin of the Catholic Church in Poland . Protestant church members living here are parish in the Trinitarian parish in Stettin in the diocese of Wroclaw of the Evangelical Augsburg Church in Poland .
