Ruslan Tümönbajew

Ruslan Tümönbajew ( Kyrgyz Руслан Түмөнбаев ; Russian Руслан Самаганович Тюменбаев / Ruslan Samaganowitsch Tjumenbajew *  English Ruslan Tyumenbayev , 28. May 1986 in Frunze , Kyrgyz SSR , USSR ) is a Kyrgyz wrestler . He won at the Olympic Games 2008 in Beijing a bronze medal in Greco-Roman style in the featherweight .

Career

Ruslan Tümönbajew started wrestling as a teenager in 1998. He focused on the Greco-Roman style. He is a member of the TSOP Bishkek sports club and has been coached by Amereuth Moldobajew since the beginning of his career. At a height of 1.70 meters, he has always started as an adult since 2006 in featherweight, the weight class up to 60 kg body weight. Wrestling is currently also his profession.

He has not yet appeared at international championships in the youth field (cadets, juniors). At the age of 18, however, he was used for the first time in 2004 with the seniors at an international championship. He finished 4th at the Asian Championships in Alma-Ata in the bantamweight division . In 2006 he won a bronze medal at the Asian Games in Doha in featherweight after losing in the quarterfinals to Makoto Sasamoto from Japan in the consolation round with victories over Yasser Mohammed Fallatah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Nurbakyt Tengisbajew , Kazakhstan .

Also in 2007 and 2008 Ruslan Tümönbajew won medals at international championships. In 2007 he won a bronze medal at the Asian championship in his native Bishkek behind Moon Ho-seon, South Korea and Hamid Bavafa, Iran , while at the World Cup in Baku he lost in his first fight against Luis Ignacio Liendo from Venezuela .
