  8. Forests, oceans, biodiversity and ecosystems
  9. Sustainable cities
  10. Good governance ” of the raw material economy and land use
  11. Global governance and norms for sustainable development
  12. Redefining the role of business in sustainable development

Climate policy

On July 8, 2014, the Deep Decarbonization Pathway Project (DDPP) working group headed by Jeffrey Sachs submitted an interim report to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon. The report describes the necessary technological measures for the 15 largest industrial nations in order to limit global warming to 2 ° C by 2050 (cf. two-degree target ).

The SDSN consists of the Leadership Council , the Executive Committee and the SDSN Assembly . The director of the SDSN is Jeffrey Sachs , who is also the director of the Earth Institute at Columbia University .

The SDSN's Leadership Council consists of recognized experts in the field of sustainable development from academia, civil society and the private sector. The Executive Committee consists of members of the Leadership Council and is responsible for organizational and financial issues.

The SDSN Assembly is an advisory committee to facilitate the mutual flow of information. It consists of one representative from each of the SDSN member institutions.

The SDSN Academic Committee is a scientific advisory committee that will be appointed in 2014 and will consist of 15 to 20 leaders from the SDSN academic member organizations. The Academic Committee is supposed to advise the Leadership Council on scientific questions (academic initiatives, communication with scientific institutions, preparation of educational material, establishment of an online university for sustainable development, etc.).

The SDSN Secretariat is based at Columbia University , with staff in Paris , New York and New Delhi .

SDSN Germany

SDSN Germany was founded on March 4, 2014 under the patronage of the global SDSN . The office of the German network is located at the German Development Institute (DIE) and is managed by Adolf Kloke-Lesch as managing director.
