Saër Sène (born November 4, 1986 in Saint-Germain-en-Laye ) is a former French football player of Senegalese descent.

Career

Adolescence

Emerging from the youth team of Paris Saint-Germain , Sène moved in 2005 to Étampes to the local and lower class FC Etampes, which was coached by his father Oumar .

Associations in Germany

A visit to his uncle in Schorndorf in the summer of 2007 moved Sène, because he liked it very much to stay there, and in July joined the SG Schorndorf district league team. His footballing qualities were soon recognized, so that he only played for a month with the Schorndorfer before he was signed by SG Sonnenhof Großaspach .

As an attacker at the top division of Baden-Württemberg , he was initially behind Gino Russo , but soon became a regular player. He made his league debut on August 31, 2007 (4th matchday) in a 1-0 win at home against SSV Ulm 1846 , when he came on for that same Russo in the 66th minute. He scored his first goal in the 89th minute in the 2: 4 defeat at TSV Crailsheim . He completed his first season with 21 appearances and four goals, he came in the following season on 31 appearances and 22 goals, including three hat tricks .

During a test match against the second team of VfB Stuttgart , the then co- coach and later head coach of the Stuttgart, Markus Babbel , noticed Sène and expressed interest in his commitment. FC Bayern Munich took advantage of the decision made by the club's management to let the 1.90-meter-tall attacker with his strong left foot continue to play and watch in Aspach and announced Sènes on May 11, 2009.

From the 2009/10 season he belonged - with a contract until 2011 - to the second team in the third division . The season preparation, which was partly completed with the first team under coach Louis van Gaal , led to various test matches in which he was used, including on July 29 and 30, 2009 as part of the Audi Cup , a preparatory tournament in the Allianz Arena . In the game against AC Milan , he contributed a goal in Munich's 4-1 victory.

After Sène had scored eleven goals in 37 third division games in his debut season, he seriously injured his knee on matchday two of the 2010/11 season against Wacker Burghausen and was out for the rest of the season. Since there was no other field player on the bench due to injury problems, Sène was replaced in the said game by substitute goalkeeper Ferdinand Oswald , who played a role in the attacking midfield. In January 2012, the contract with FC Bayern Munich was terminated.

Clubs in the United States and England

In February 2012, equipped with a contract with the US first division club New England Revolution , he scored in the first home game of the season against the Portland Timbers to win 1-0 in the first minute of the game. In 2014 he joined the league competitor New York Red Bulls , for whom he played in five league games and four CONCACAF Champions League games; on August 26, 2014, he scored his only competitive goal for the club in the first group match in a 2-0 win in the first leg against Club Deportivo FAS from El Salvador with the 1-0 goal in the 10th minute. After the end of the season he was signed by the English second division Blackpool FC , for whom he made his only competitive appearance on January 10, 2015 in a 1-0 home win against Millwall FC .

Return to Germany / departure to Bulgaria

In December 2015, his contract was terminated.

After half a year without a club, he was signed by the regional league team Stuttgarter Kickers in August 2016 just before the start of the season . From August 5 (1st matchday) to November 22, 2016 (22nd matchday), he played 16 games and scored two goals. Sène, without a club since January 6, 2017, joined the Bulgarian first division club PFK Montana during the current season , for whom he made his debut on March 31, 2017 (26th match day) in the 2-0 defeat in the away game against Botev Plovdiv gave. As the bottom of the table , he also took part with his team in the elimination games to remain in the top division, as well as in the relegation games against the second and third placed in the 2nd division . In all games he was used, including in the decisive game in round 3 to remain in the top division. However, he lost this with his team with 1: 2 against Septemwri Sofia , which meant relegation.
