Hiršzon started playing tennis at the age of six. He played his first tournament on the ATP Challenger Tour in 1989 in Genoa , where he also reached the second round. In 1991 he reached the individual finals of the Challenger tournament in Reggio Calabria , where he was defeated by Lars Koslowski . In July 1993 he reached the Challenger Tournament in Tampere on the side of Christian Ruud for the first time a double-final. In the following week, both managed to win the tournament in Montauban . After Hiršzon had previously played with changing partners, he appeared in Kitzbühel for the first time in August 1993 on the side of Goran Ivanišević , who would remain his preferred doubles partner until 1998. This partnership was an important step in the career of Hiršzon, as both of them subsequently performed successfully on the ATP World Tour . In the course of his career he was able to win two tournaments in doubles on the ATP World Tour and the ATP Challenger Tour. He reached his highest ranking in the tennis world rankings in 1993 with position 214 in singles and 1997 with position 85 in doubles.
His best result in a Grand Slam tournament was reaching the third round of the doubles competition at Wimbledon 1997. At the side of Sander Groen, he was defeated by the eventual finalists Jacco Eltingh and Paul Haarhuis . In the individual, he could never qualify for a Grand Slam tournament.
Hiršzon played 14 singles and 9 doubles games for the Croatian Davis Cup team between 1994 and 1998 . At the 1996 Summer Olympics , he played doubles for Croatia. At the side of Goran Ivanišević he reached the quarterfinals, where both were defeated by the later bronze medalists David Prinosil and Marc-Kevin Goellner from Germany .
