Salva ( Hungarian Szálva ) is a municipality in the Bistrița-Năsăud district in Romania .

location

Salva is located in northern Transylvania , about 6 km west of the small town of Năsăud at the confluence of the Sălăuța River in the Great Somesch .

history

Salva was first mentioned in a document in 1245.

population

Almost exclusively Romanians live in the community . In the 2002 census, four of the 2972 ​​inhabitants at the time claimed to be Hungarian and one to German nationality.

economy

There are production facilities for plastics and textiles in Salva.

The national road Drum național 17D runs through Salva , to the north the national road Drum național 17C branches off towards Sighetu Marmației .

The train station is at the southern end of the village. Salva is an important railway junction in northern Romania. The Beclean pe Someş – Rodna Veche railway runs here , from which the Salva – Vişeu de Jos line branches off in the village .
