biography

Hector played her first FIS races in December 2007. In the 2008/09 season she had her first appearances in the European Cup , but did not come in any of her six races in the points. In February 2009 she reached fourth place in the giant slalom at the European Youth Olympic Festival , but at the Junior World Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen at the beginning of March she only came in 28th place.

At the beginning of the 2009/10 European Cup season , Hector surprisingly finished second in the Funäsdalen giant slalom and a week later she was third in the Kvitfjell giant slalom . The 17-year-old then made her debut in the World Cup in the giant slalom in Åre on December 12th, 2009 and, with 22nd place, got her first World Cup points straight away. At the Junior World Championships in 2010 , she won the bronze medal in slalom.

Hector celebrated her first victory in the European Cup on December 20, 2010 in the giant slalom in Limone Piemonte . She won the giant slalom at the 2011 Junior World Championships in Crans-Montana . A month later she won the bronze medal in the team competition with the Swedish team at the 2011 World Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , without having run a run herself. Her best World Cup result so far, she achieved on March 11, 2011 as 16th in the giant slalom in Špindlerův Mlýn . At the Junior World Championships in Roccaraso in 2012 , she won the silver medal in the giant slalom.

On December 12, 2014, Hector finished second in the giant slalom in Åre for the first time in a World Cup race. Two weeks later, on December 28th, she won her first World Cup race with the giant slalom in Kühtai . During the first run of the World Cup giant slalom in Åre on December 12, 2015, she tore a cruciate ligament in her left knee without falling and had to take a break for the rest of the season.
