Sarah Zaharanski (* 1989 in Hallein ) is an Austrian actress .

Life

Sarah Zaharanski grew up in Adnet in the state of Salzburg . She attended the language branch of the Bundesgymnasium and Bundesrealgymnasium Hallein and then switched to the Bundeshandelsakademie Hallein with a focus on English and French. From 2008 to 2012 she studied acting at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz .

During her apprenticeship she worked with Johann Kresnik , Anna Badora , Igor Bauersima and Peter Jordan and was on stage in the Theater im Palais Graz, Schauspielhaus Graz and the Schaubühne Berlin . She was also at the Federal Competition of German-Speaking Drama Students at Kampnagel to see (Hamburg). For her artistic diploma thesis Today I would rather not have met , for which she dramatized the novel of the same name by Herta Müller and dealt with her German-Romanian roots, she received an award and was invited to the Fringe Festival of the Ruhrfestspiele Recklinghausen .

After graduating, she worked a. a. in the Stadttheater Klagenfurt and Schauspielhaus Graz. She could also be seen at the Salzburg Festival in the Gawain Opera, directed by Alvis Hermanis . In addition to various theater engagements, she realized her second solo evening Romeo & Juliet rebooted together with DJ XRated of the German hip-hop collaborative Snowgoons DJs , as a contribution to HeForShe , an initiative of UN Women , in which she told the story from Juliet's perspective and everyone Roles played. From 2015 to 2017 she was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Landestheater Coburg , where she a. a. Hilde Scheller starred in the world premiere of Was ave love in thoughts (director: Johannes Zametzer), Ismene in Antigone (director: Konstanze Lauterbach ) and in Elfriede Jelinek's Wut directed by Axel Sichrovsky .

Sarah Zaharanski is increasingly working for film and television, where she most recently stood in front of the camera for Soko Donau , Die Klempnerin and Last Kirtag , directed by Julian Pölsler .

She also works as a spokesperson. Her first radio feature I am the one every politician knows - How the Syrian Omar Khir Alanam became a famous Styrian by Claudia Gschweitl ( Ö1 ) was awarded the 2018 Radio Prize for Adult Education .

Zaharanski lives in Vienna and Cologne and is represented by Tanja Siefert agency.
