Schönau bei Litschau is a place and under the name Schönau a cadastral municipality of the municipality of Litschau in the Gmünd district in Lower Austria .

history

For many centuries, Schönau was part of the Litschau rule.

Settlement development

In 1590/91 Schönau counted 10 subordinate houses; in 1751 there were 14 subordinate houses.

At the turn of the year 1979/1980 there was a total of 68 building areas with 29,096 m² and 48 gardens on 15,711 m² in the cadastral community Schönau, in 1989/1990 there were 107 building areas. In 1999/2000 the number of building areas had grown to 251 and in 2009/2010 there were 126 buildings on 247 building areas.

Agriculture

The cadastral community is characterized by agriculture. 205 hectares were used for agriculture at the turn of 1979/1980 and 1,476 hectares were forest areas. In 1999/2000 agriculture was carried out on 175 hectares and 1,504 hectares were designated as areas used for forestry. At the end of 2018, 160 hectares were used as agricultural land and forestry was carried out on 1,500 hectares. The average soil climate number of Schönau is 15.4 (as of 2010).

The Schönau pond is the largest body of water in the cadastral community .
