The 1929 World Chess Championship was a duel between the reigning world chess champion Alexander Alekhine and his challenger Efim Bogolyubov . Alekhine successfully defended his title.
Organization and rules
The games 1–8 and 24–25 were played in Wiesbaden , 9–11 in Heidelberg , 12–17 in Berlin , 18–19 and 23 in The Hague , 20 in Rotterdam and 21–22 in Amsterdam . The winner should be the one who first scored 15½ points and won 6 games.
