history
The small village was first mentioned in a document in 1160. In 1939 it had 71 inhabitants. The village community center was built in 1971.
On December 31, 1971, the place that was then part of the Hünfeld district was incorporated into the Haunetal community.
The place name is derived from "Slatenrode", which means clearing of swamps .
