history

Around 1160–1190 a Reinolt von Mosedorf is mentioned in a document from the Mallersdorf monastery . 1190 Rupert von Mostorf appears in the vicinity of the Bogener Count Berthold , presumably he was a ministerial of the Bogener. In the second half of the 13th century this family came with Heinrich von Moosdorf into the office of magister curiae of the Bavarian duke. Together with Otto von Straubing , he often appears as an arbitrator and arbitrator in disputes between the dukes Ludwig and Heinrich . He is also court master and advisor to Duke Heinrich. The last of the Moosdorfers mentioned in a document is Fridrich von Mosdorf (1320).

The Lamp follow the Moosdorfer in 1288 . In 1366 an Ulrich der Lamp is mentioned here . In 1368 and 1373 a Hartweig of the lamp appeared . At the beginning of the 15th century the catfish sit here . Peter the Wallaer is mentioned in 1413 and 1421. In the first country table there is an Oswalt Waller . Then follows Georg Gareis von Bayerbach , Hanns Elssenpeckh (approx. 1510), the Jung , Ulrich von Nusstorf zu Peuerbach and Hannes Gswind zu Mosdorf .

Moosdorf is alternately referred to as Hofmark or seat . Sebastian Helmberger was the first to hold the Hofmark (Landtafel from 1557), and his son Hans Bernhardt follows him in this position. After 1618 he owned the jurisdiction for the seat and two associated courtyards, as he was not able to enjoy national freedom. Adam Ferdinand Helmberger († 1657) succeeds him . In 1661, the electoral councilor to Straubing Christoph Zehentner acquired the Hofmark and was given the title of baron von und zu Moosdorf . The tens stayed here until the end of the 17th century. Then follows a quick change of ownership:

  • Anna Elisabeth von Schöllnach (1721)
  • Josef Freiherr von Pelkoven (1723)
  • Joseph Christoph von Verger (from 1724)
  • Maximilian Freiherr von Verger von und zu Moosdorf (1740)
  • Joseph Maria Freiherr von Weich (1788)
  • Andre Neumaier (1802)

Under Andre Neumaier the property was "smashed". The palace was acquired by the royal appellate judge Georg Spahn. He eventually sold it to the farmer Zirngibl.

Mossdorf Castle today

The castle was built in 1671. It was expanded in the late 18th century. There is only a remnant of the former two-wing complex . There was allegedly an underground corridor connection to the nearby Schambach Castle over a distance of about four kilometers. However, the corridor is no longer passable and probably never existed.

The property is privately owned; A dental practice is operated in the property today.
