Pürgl Castle

The castle Pürgl (derived from Pürglein , d. H. Little Castle) is an Outbound medieval hilltop castle on 469  m above sea level. NN above the Elisabethszeller Bach east of Pürgl , a district of the Neukirchen community in the Straubing-Bogen district in Bavaria .

history

The early owners were the Ursenpecken , who had their own family grave in the Oberalteich monastery until the end of the 15th century. Thereafter, the former district judge of Straubing , Leopold von Rehlingen, was the owner of the Hofmark († 1693). Afterwards his son Adam Leopold became heir to both court brands. He had the aging church in Pürgl replaced by the current building. In 1739 Maximilian Alois was Baron von Asch (* 1678), married to Maria Anna Sidonia Freiin von Hörwarth since 1709, Lord of the Court of Pürgl. His son Joseph Leopold Alois Freiherr von Asch (1713–1802) no longer lived in the Hofmark seat himself, so Pürgl Castle gradually fell into disrepair in the later 18th century.

Nothing has been preserved from the former castle complex.
