The Höhenstein castle ruins are the ruins of a medieval hilltop castle at 530  m above sea level. NHN near Höhenstein , a district of the municipality of Stallwang in the district of Straubing-Bogen in Bavaria .

Older publications assume that it was founded around 1200. However, the owners are only mentioned in the 14th century: Martin Zystrell 1339 and Ulrich Zystrell 1389. Later the Lords of Donnerstein were owners, in 1475 a Georg von Donnerstein zu Höhenstein. In Löwlerkrieg it was destroyed 1489th

The remains of a residential tower of the castle complex are still preserved in the northwest corner, which are protected as a monument with the monument number D-2-78-189-13.
