The Salles Castle ( French Château de Salles ) is in the French commune of Vézac in Auvergnat Cantal seven kilometers east of Aurillac . Its name comes from the noble family de Salles, who built the current castle in the 16th century.

The original castle, built by Bonnet de Salles in the 15th century, was destroyed by a Monsieur de Saint-Hérem during the French Wars of Religion in 1573 . It was then rebuilt in its current form by François de Salles, lord of Vézac and l'Ouradou, a follower of Charles de Valois . At the beginning of the 17th century, the castle and property fell to the House of Giou. After the French Revolution , the Seigneurie Vézac and the castle became the property of the Marquis de Miramont. Today the building houses a golf hotel. His eight hectare large castle park is as Jardin remarquable classified and is under monument protection .
