Schwarz (also Höflein , Slovenian : Dvorec ) is a small clustered village on the Radsberg plateau with 195 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020). It belongs to the municipality of Ebenthal in the Klagenfurt-Land district in Carinthia .

geography

The field corridor extends to around 790 m above sea level. All around are the vast forests of the eastern Sattnitz . The main connection to Ebenthal and Klagenfurt leads north across the Tutzach plateau. In the west, the Schwarzberg - Haselberg ridge, which reaches up to 855 m, delimits the fields to the Stemeritsch depression, while the south breaks off steeply to the Kossiach area at around 650 m above sea level.

View of the western district of Schwarz - Dvorec

In the northeast is the Höflein moor , a nature reserve since 1965 and a European reserve since 2008 . It is a raised bog that emerged from a remnant of dead ice from the Wörthersee glacier. It is located at an altitude of about 770 meters in a shallow basin, which is sealed by a nine-meter-thick layer of ground moraine clays. The two to three meters thick raised bog peat was created above it. The Höfleiner Moor consists of two parts, a raised moor and a low moor. The raised bog consists mainly of peat moss . Rosemary , cranberries and heather and bog pines are its characteristics. The central high moor is surrounded by sedges . In the peripheral zones the succession towards the Black Alder Forest can be seen .

history

In 1270 Engelbert von Printinhav (Breitenau in Lower Carniola) exchanged a Hube in black (then Hovelinge ) with the Viktring monastery at the same time as the 11 Huben in Tutzach and received 10 Huben in the Krain from the monastery . As early as 1289, Viktring received an enlargement of its holdings in black through a gift from Konrad von Grafenstein. He gave the monastery 1 ½ Huben in "Hofelingen" to improve the diet on certain days. Viktring had a demonstrable 2 ½ strokes around 100 in black. In 1488 it had increased its property to 4 ½ manses . 3 ½ of them served as the refectory. In 1496 this ownership was the same, only three owners of the 4 ½ Huben now served: Blasius, son of a Gregor, also manages "the other part on which his mother sits" in addition to his own, one Andreas served from another and one Rupprecht of two strokes. In 1515 there were four owners again, with Blasius only managing one Hube (previously 3) and his brother Valentin the other two. Andreas and Rupprecht each served 1½ strokes. A total of 6 strokes. In 1529 Viktring already had five farms on which Entzy, Jally, Ruprat, Andreas and Ruprecht served. The Viktringer Urbar of 1549 showed the same ownership. This shows that Andreas's 1 ½ Huben property was shared between his two sons. Balthasar received half a bonnet and Entzy one bonnet. Instead of Blasius we now find a Ruprecht Weber, instead of Valentin a Hans who served from 2 Huben. Another two Huben served Franz Hielben instead of Ruprecht. Thus between 1515 and 1549 there was an increase in the number of places by dividing a hub. At the same time, two chaste were also created that also paid interest to Viktring and belonged to Achaz and Canzian Helm, each serving 24d interest money. This is one of the first evidence of the establishment of chaste as an additional, smallest settlement. At that time there were already two chaste in Saberda and one in Mieger. In 1529 we find the other Huben in black for the first time and their manorial lords documented: A Hube on which a Kaspar was sitting belonged to the church in Radsberg. Four hubs belonged to the church of Klagenfurt. Thus in 1529 there were 10 Huben (9 owners) and 2 Chaste in Black. In 1827 we find 12 lifts and 1 chaste in Schwarz, distributed among the following gentlemen:

  • Viktring has 5 hubs: Achatz, Heinsch, Juch, Ruditz and Ruttnig, 3 hubs it shares with other gentlemen: Jellen, Oblack and Riepan
  • St.Lambert am Radsberg has 1 Hube (Hribernig) and 1 Keusche (Smeritschnig). At Radsberg, part of Schwarz 12 also pays interest, together with Viktring
  • St. Egidius zu Klagenfurt has 2 hubs (Stephan and Novin) and part of the Riepanhube (together with Viktring)
  • Grafenstein has 2 hubs: Potok and Mauschmair, with the exception of Schwarz 1 (Sekoun), which was apparently only founded later by Jellen, and Schwarz 3, which did not yet exist in 1827

The old elementary school of the municipality of Radsberg is located in Schwarz , which was dissolved during the municipality reform in 1973 in the municipality of Ebenthal.

population

Black is predominantly inhabited by farmers and commuters .

Corridor shapes

The corridor image shows a block and strip corridor, with three sub-areas being separated by the road network:

  1. In the flat and level northeast part there is a largely strip-shaped division of the parcels. In addition to short strips with a length of around 300 m and 25–50 m width, a long strip core connects directly to the village. The long strip corridor runs from the road to the edge of the forest for a length of 500 to 600 m. The corridor near the village is very regularly divided into 5 belt-shaped parcels with a width of only 20 m.
  2. In the northwest of the corridor, the rather restless terrain is taken up by a large disc-shaped arable area with several short blocks of rectangular shape mixed with long, very irregularly shaped strips
  3. To the south of the village, several wide, irregular strips directly adjoin the courtyards, whereby they also run through to the boundary of the district.
