course

The Schwarzenbach rises in the Kassel district, in the west of the geo-nature park Frau-Holle-Land (Werratal.Meißner.Kaufunger Wald) and roughly in the center of the Söhre . Its source is about 3 km east-northeast of the village of Wollrode , an east-northeast part of the municipality of Guxhagen , on the western slope of the Stellberg (approx.  495  m above sea  level ) on a forest path at an altitude of around 381  m .

Slightly below its origin, the Schwarzenbach - after crossing under the Märchenlandweg  - takes up a stream that flows from the southeast from the Stellbergsee , which is close to the source , and shortly afterwards one that comes from the northeast from the Christteich pond below the Schorn ( 456.8  m ) . Then it flows in the Schnepfental along the nature park and district border as well as along the Fulda-Gelster-Weg approximately to the west and after leaving the nature park to and through the village of Wollrode in the Schwalm-Eder district.

Below Wollrode passes under the Schwarzenbach - after receiving a from the east of Albshausen coming Bach - only the national road 83 and a little later, the high-speed line Hannover-Würzburg , the long of 660 m and 33 m high Schwarzenbach Viaduct of the valley of the watercourse leads . Then he reaches the center of Guxhagen , where he crosses the Bebra-Baunatal-Guntershausen railway line and then the Poststrasse with the Fulda cycle path .

Finally, the Schwarzenbach flows just west of the center of Guxhagen, a little below the weir there , which was built to operate the former paint mill and is around 150 m long, at around 150  m height in its short lock canal ; the latter flows shortly afterwards into the western Weser source river Fulda . Its mouth west opposite in Guxhagen district Breitenau the former convent Breitenau .
