Wollrode is a district of the municipality of Guxhagen in the north Hessian Schwalm-Eder district .

Geographical location

Wollrode lies between the Söhre in the east, on which parts of the geo-nature park Frau-Holle-Land (Werratal.Meißner.Kaufunger Wald) extend, and the Guxhagen core town in the west-southwest. Other neighborhoods are Dörnhagen in the north-north-west, Wattenbach in the east and Albshausen in the south. It is traversed by the Schwarzenbach coming from the Söhre and flowing into the Fulda .

history

The village is first mentioned in documents in 1228. The first church was built in 1412 ; today's church dates from 1741.

In the time of the Kingdom of Westphalia (1807-1813) Wollrode belonged to the canton of Körle . In 1939 the village had 431 inhabitants and belonged to the Melsungen district .

Territorial reform

On February 1, 1971, the municipality of Wollrode was incorporated into the municipality of Guxhagen as part of the regional reform in Hesse .

traffic

The state road  3460 ( Dörnhagen –Wollrode– Wattenbach ; formerly in the area between Dörnhagen, Wollrode, Albshausen and Körle : federal road 83 ) runs through Wollrode in a west-east direction and runs east to Wattenbach. The district road  158 (former B 83) leads south past Albshausen to Körle .
