Albshausen is a district of the municipality of Guxhagen in the Schwalm-Eder district in northern Hesse .

Geographical location

Albshausen is located on the south-western slope of the Söhre , on which parts of the geo-nature park Frau-Holle-Land (Werra valley, Meissner, Kaufunger forest) extend. Neighboring towns are Wollrode in the north, Wattenbach in the north-east, Eiterhagen in the east-south-east, Empfershausen in the south-east, Körle in the south, Wagenfurth on the other side of the nearby Fulda in the south-south-west, Grebenau on the other side of the Fulda in the west and Guxhagen in the west-north-west.

history

The village is mentioned for the first time in 1074. In 1939 it had 264 inhabitants and belonged to the district of Melsungen . In the time of the Kingdom of Westphalia (1807-1813) Albshausen belonged to the canton of Körle .

On February 1, 1971, the municipality of Albshausen was incorporated into the municipality of Guxhagen as part of the regional reform in Hesse .

To the north of Albshausen, district road  158 (also former B 83), which leads through the village in a southerly direction to Körle , branches off from state road  3460 (formerly federal road 83 ; Dörnhagen – Albshausen – Wollrode) . The Kehrenberg tunnel of the high-speed line Hanover – Würzburg runs a little southwest past the village .
