Swiss foot
The Swiss foot was standardized and metrically defined in 1835/1838 by the intercantonal concordat on a common Swiss system of measures and weights ; at the same time the conventional duodecimal system was replaced by the decimal system . This Swiss footing was in place until the end of 1876.
