The Series A and Series B was divided into two regional groups. A win brought 2 points, a draw 1 point. The winner of each group qualified for the respective finals. The winner of the Serie A finals becomes Swiss champions 1900/01.

The final had to be repeated because the Grasshopper Club Zurich had used a non-qualified player in the first game. On April 14, 1901, the Grasshopper Club Zurich won against FC Bern, making them Swiss champions in 1901.
