Sergio González Soriano , better known as Sergio , (born November 10, 1976 in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat ) is a Spanish football coach and former football player .

Career

Sergio his professional career began in 1994 at CE L'Hospitalet in the Segunda División B . After a convincing season he was committed by Espanyol Barcelona , but initially only used in the second team, which played in the same division. In 1997 he made the jump to the first team playing in the Primera División . In 2000 he won the Copa del Rey with the team . A year later he left the club for Deportivo La Coruña , where he has been playing ever since. In 2002 he was able to celebrate winning the Copa del Rey a second time.

National team

Sergio is a former Spanish international . He made his debut on March 24, 2001 against Liechtenstein . Because of the strong competition in midfield, he only made eleven appearances, but he took part in the 2002 World Cup. Sergio also played in the Catalan selection from 1999 to 2013 .
