Álvaro Cervera Díaz (born September 20, 1965 in Santa Isabel ) is a former Spanish football player and current coach .

Player career

societies

Cervera began his career at Racing Santander , but rose with the club from Cantabria in the 1986/87 season . He then moved to RCD Mallorca for the 1987/88 season and was relegated again. After the direct resurgence, the Spaniard developed into a first-class midfielder and became a national player.

After relegation in the 1991/92 season , the Spaniard was signed by Valencia CF. It was here that Cervera qualified for the UEFA Cup for the first and only time in his career .

In 1995 Cervera returned to Racing Santander for two seasons . He then played one more year at Hércules CF in the Segunda División and another year at Ontinyent CF in Segunda División B , before his career in Catarroja CF ended.

National team

Cervera made four appearances for the Spanish national team . His debut took place on September 4, 1991 as part of a 2-1 win over Uruguay .

Coaching career

Cervera has been a trainer since 2003.
