Simon Froehling
Simon Froehling (* 1978 in Brugg , Aargau ) is a Swiss author .
Life
Simon Froehling was born in 1978 in Brugg in the Swiss canton of Aargau and has dual Swiss and Australian citizens . He did his high school diploma in Brisbane, Australia . He then began training as an English teacher in London , which was followed by a one-year work stay in Cairo . Among other things, he worked as a business correspondent in Zurich. Today Froehling lives in the Zurich Reuss valley and works full-time as an author and translator . In addition to his writing activity, Froehling studied literary writing at the Swiss Literature Institute of the Bern University of the Arts in Biel , where he is now a visiting lecturer.
Froehling lived temporarily in Berlin , a. a. in the apartment of the Association of Swiss Authors (AdS) at the time. Between February 2 and April 28, 2006, Froehling lived in a studio provided by the Canton of Zurich .
Works
Froehlings works include both prose and poetry, as well as radio plays and u. a. the award-winning plays, the Kern family goes to the seaside and Feverkind . With Feindmaterie, another stage play, Froehling received the audience award at the St. Gallen Author Days. For his first novel Lange Nights Day ( bilgerverlag , Zurich 2010), he received a working grant from the Canton of Zurich and was awarded the Network Culture Prize 2014. He also writes texts in Swiss German , a. a. for the theater project This is not a lovesong .
