Ingeborg Bachmann Prize 2012
The Ingeborg Bachmann Prize 2012 was the 36th competition for the literature prize as part of the Days of German-Language Literature . The event took place from July 5th to 8th, 2012 in the Klagenfurt ORF theater of the Carinthia regional studio and was moderated for the last time by Clarissa Stadler . Michaela Monschein, who was unexpectedly replaced in autumn that year, was also in charge of the management for the last time.
The Austrian State Prize for literary translation was again awarded in the framework program of the competition, this year the winner Leopold Federmair was also a participant in the reading competition.
Ruth Klüger gave the Klagenfurt speech on literature under the title The tenable sentence in the trumpet of words : In an homage to Ingeborg Bachmann, Klüger investigated the question of the truth in literature.
The Ingeborg Bachmann Prize itself could only be decided after a runoff between Matthias Nawrat and Olga Martynova and went to Martynova in the second voting round. However, the loser prevailed as a Kelag Prize winner.
