Ingeborg Bachmann Prize 1980
The Ingeborg Bachmann Prize 1980 was the fourth competition for the literature prize. The reading marathon took place during the week of the encounter in the Klagenfurt town hall.
During the event there were two protests by participants against the conditions of the competition: Jürgen Lodemann demanded the abolition of the prize money by reading out a paper. The winner of the main prize, Sten Nadolny , also addressed the jury critically and distributed the cash prize among his competitors.
