Singles Collection: The London Years is a compilation album by the English rock group The Rolling Stones from 1989.

General

The three CDs bring together all of the singles released by the Rolling Stones from 1963 (year of release of the first single) to 1971 (termination of the contract with Decca). It also contains alternative B-sides for the US market and alternative B-sides for the English market. In contrast to other compilation albums by the Stones, she puts the recordings in chronological order. The CD contains a booklet with notes on Bruce Eder's songs. In August 2002 the Rolling Stones catalog was published again on London / ABKCO, including the "Singles Collection" in a digitally reworked version. The single collection reached number 91 on The Billboard 200 .

Criticism

  • Entertainment Weekly (9/20/02, p. 104) - ... A triple disc that has all the recognizable hits along with must-own obscurities ... (A triple CD with all the hits and obscure recordings that you have got to....)
  • NME (magazine) (7/8/95, p. 46) - 10 (out of 10) - ... indispensable ... (... indispensable ...)
  • Stephen Thomas Erlewine AMG: Casual fans might want to stick with the Hot Rocks sets, since they just have the hits, but for those that want a little bit more, the Singles Collection is absolutely essential. ("Casual fans" may stick with the Hot Rocks album because they want the hits; but for those who want a little more, the Singles Collection is absolutely essential.)
