Skellefteå Förenade Fotbollsföreningar is a Swedish football club from Skellefteå . The club is the former football division of Skellefteå AIK , which played second-rate for several years .

history

At the end of the 1910s, Skellefteå IF was founded in Skellefteå . Since younger players were rarely used at this club, they founded Skellefteå AIK as a local rival club in 1921 , with the then successful Stockholm club AIK being used as a namesake.

At first, the Skellefteå AIK football team only played lower class, and in 1952 they were promoted to third-class division 3 Norrländska Norra for the first time . There she was runner-up behind Lycksele IF and the two clubs rose as the first team from Norrland to the second division after all of Sweden was admitted to the top league levels of the Swedish league pyramid for the first time. Here the team quickly established themselves and in 1957 only the goal difference, which was three goals worse than the season winner GIF Sundsvall, separated from the relegation place to Allsvenskan . A year later they won the season, but the team failed at Hammarby IF after a 0-0 draw on home ground by a 2-6 away defeat. In the following years, the club continued to place itself in the front, but without being able to build on the successes.

In the fall of 1964, the team of local rivals Skellefteå IF and Skellefteå AIK merged. The merged team, however, only achieved six wins this season, so that they had to go into the third division together with local rivals Sunnanå SK . Without defeat, the club managed the season win in Division 3 Norra Norrland Nedra in the following season and returned to the second division after a 1-1 draw and a 2-0 win against Storfors AIK . There the team first settled in the lower midfield, before only seven points were scored in 1972 and relegation had to be accepted again. Again the relay win and after successes over IFK Östersund and IF Friska Viljor in the promotion round, the team returned to the second division together with Gefle IF . This time the return was not crowned with success and together with Degerfors IF and Älvsjö AIK the team was relegated again.

The Skellefteå AIK football team missed direct re-promotion. In the following years she established herself in the front area without being able to play along for promotion. At the beginning of the 1980s, the team reported again in the promotion race. 1981 were three points short of front runner Gammelstads IF , a year later the team was runner-up behind the same club, one point behind. 1983 finally succeeded the relay win, which was crowned by two wins against Hovås IF in the promotion round with the return to the second division. After the direct relegation succeeded the renewed season victory and, after the team was able to prevail against Jonsereds IF , the promotion. After three seasons in relegation battle, the team rose again in 1988 from the second division.

In the following years Skellefteå AIK established itself in the third division. 1993 succeeded behind the defeatless Kiruna FF the runner-up, in the promotion round the team failed after two defeats at Myresjö IF . Four years later the qualification for the promotion games succeeded again, this time Lira Luleå BK proved too strong.

At the turn of the millennium, the football department broke away from the main club as Skellefteå AIK FK . The team initially stayed in the third division, even if they found themselves in the relegation battle. In 2004, the team had to relegate to the side of Luleå SK for the first time since the early 1950s in the fourth division. In Division 3 Norra Norrland , the team won the season, but due to a league reform, the promotion was denied and they came to the new fourth-class Division 2 Norrland .

Before the start of the 2006 season, the name was changed to Skellefteå FF, when the project of a strong football team in Skellefteå was initiated together with Sunnanå SK and Morön BK . Then the team played with in the front, in 2008 succeeded before IFK Luleå the relay win and thus the return to the third division. There she had no chance with three wins of the season and rose as the bottom of the table together with fellow promoted Karlslunds IF and Enköpings SK directly from again.
