Smiley's Pizza Profis is a 1988 by Smiley's Franchise GmbH founded on pizza - and pasta - Delivery Service specialized franchise system in the field of food service and as such, the fourth-largest pizza delivery in Germany (as of 2014).

Companies

The company was founded in 1988 by Ingo Graetz and two business partners. The underlying concept was inspired by American companies and eating habits. The first sales office opened in Hamburg-Eppendorf. Almost at the same time, the competitor Joey's Pizza Service also opened its first restaurant in Hamburg. In 2014, 58 franchises across Germany belonged to Smiley's, which are spread across 12 federal states. Most of the sales outlets are in northern Germany. In Elmshorn , a franchisee runs a classic restaurant in addition to the delivery service. The current managing directors of Smiley's Franchise GmbH are Ingo Graetz and Andrea Schemion. The Hamburg company's biggest competitor - until it was taken over by Domino's Pizza in 2016 - was Joey's Pizza Service . On December 14, 2015, the German Institute for Service Quality published the study Pizza - Delivery Services 2015: "More transparency - more customer proximity" , where Smiley’s next to the biggest competitors on the market Call a Pizza , Hallo Pizza , Joey's Pizza Service and Pizza Max as One of five companies was subjected to a comprehensive analysis of the prices of various standard products and the evaluation of product selection and quality of the pizzas using sensory tests .

The franchisees sell the products under the “Smiley's Pizza Profis” brand and in the same year generated a combined turnover of 49.9 million euros.

Products

Smiley's offers pizza , pasta , salads , croques , wraps , snacks , desserts and drinks . The focus is on pizza. There are around 35 varieties to choose from, which are prepared from different types of dough and can be expanded with different ingredients according to customer requirements . There is also the option of putting together a pizza according to your individual needs. Special lunch offers are available for a few hours Monday to Friday . The offer is supplemented by regularly changing promotions .

Customers can order directly in the respective branch by telephone, via their own online shop system and via the service provider Pizza.de. The company also offers a mobile app for Apple iOS and Android .

According to their own information, the ingredients for the products are weighed to the gram in the franchise operations in order to be able to guarantee consistent quality. Smiley's was also the first German company to introduce reusable packaging in the delivery sector .

Awards

In 2012 and 2013, Smiley's was chosen in the nationwide largest customer satisfaction study "Service Champions" in first place in the "Pizza delivery service" category.

The Smiley's app for iOS was awarded “very good” (5 stars, overall rating: 1.85) by PC-Welt 2011.

Sponsorship

In the 2010/11 season was Smiley's a sponsor of the Hamburg DEL - Hockey Association Hamburg Freezers . Smiley's is also an official HSV supplier .
