action

introduction

The 15-year-old Tim Winter has already seen a lot of the world, as he accompanies his father, an Air Force pilot, to his changing locations. However, his father cannot take him to Somalia and so he sends him from Berlin to Amrum to see his grandmother. A new school is waiting for the teenager for the eighth time - he has already got used to being “the new one” again.

As soon as he has arrived, he clashes with Lars, the admired leader of a hip surfing clique. Tim wants to protect Eric, a somewhat overweight boy, from Lars and his friends and is pushed through the window of a shop by Lars. To compensate for the damage, Tim is supposed to pay a fine of 1400 euros and so he starts looking for a job. He finds what he is looking for at a horse farm and can start work immediately. Shortly afterwards he watches a blonde girl, Vic, dancing in the riding stables. He likes her right away and he falls in love with her. Although Vic has been with Lars for over two years, she also likes Tim.

Bulk

Lars invites Vic to a romantic dinner and their first night together in a suite, the "honeymoon suite", in his father's hotel. Vic is not enthusiastic about the idea and seeks advice from her best friend Steffi, whose father owns the horse farm.

Tim receives his first riding lessons from Eric, with whom he has become friends. Steffi asks Vic to move her horse, as she hardly finds time for it herself and so it finally happens that Tim and Vic ride out together. The two teenagers talk intensively and Vic discovers something in Tim that she doesn't even know about Lars: The boy from Berlin likes her for who she is - with all her problems and fears. Vic confides in Tim that her father drinks, is unemployed after the bankruptcy of his company, and that her family can barely make ends meet with the money. And Tim also tells her about his personal strokes of fate, such as B. his mother's death when he was just four years old. He also tells her the reason why he avoids swimming in the sea: A friend of his, Ben, drowned in a lake in a gravel pit because he could not swim. Tim finally found him, but couldn't save him.

Because of Tim's openness, Vic realizes that she has fallen in love with him. Vic's mother, the school principal, learns of the looming love and is not enthusiastic about the development. She wants her daughter to be with a boy of her standing. Therefore, Vic tries to hide the relationship with Tim, which of course bothers the newly in love very much. At a karaoke night that Lars and Vic are also at, Tim sings Vic's favorite song "The One". Then Vic separates from Lars in order to finally be able to be open with Tim. She would like to show her new love, but then doesn't do it.

Meanwhile, Vic's father wants to build a new existence by taking tourists across the sea to the seal banks in a boat. He keeps the boat in a barn on Steffi's father's riding stables, for which Tim also has a key. Lars is angry because Vic left him. During a summer party, he and his friend Bernie break into the barn and Lars destroys Steffi's father's trophies stored there. When they suddenly have to disappear, however, Bernie drops a burning kerosene lamp on the floor, causing the entire barn and boat to go up in flames.

To show Tim that she also stands by him in public, Vic sings "The One" at the summer festival. The arrival of a policeman who informs Steffi's father about the fire suddenly destroys the mood. The horse ranch operator suspects Tim, who protests his innocence at the police station. Now, Vic's parents feel even more empowered in their rejection of Tim. When Vic's sister overhears a conversation between Lars and Bernie in the course of which she learns the truth about the fire, she immediately informs Vic and her parents.

Tim and Lars clash on the beach and this time Tim challenges Lars to a swimming competition. Whoever reaches the red buoy first, wins. Lars swims faster than Tim, but is stung by a fire jellyfish shortly before the finish line. Tim saves the adversary and brings him back to the beach. The onlookers are already waiting there - and among them are Vic's parents, who apologize to Tim after the rescue operation.

Enough

Tim's father has realized that he has to look after his son more and comes to Amrum to pick him up. Vic and Tim are desperate because right now, when all the obstacles have been cleared, the two lovers only have one day left before Tim has to leave. They sit on the beach and try to enjoy their last hours together. As a farewell, Vic hands Tim a box, which he is only allowed to open later. When he and his father drive off and are already on the ferry to the mainland, Tim opens the box. Inside there is a photo of Vic and her anchor chain, which she got from her grandfather: If you press the anchor very firmly, everything should be fine again.

Tim surprises Vic on the beach, they hug each other: Tim will stay on the island.

Reviews

Ulrike Schröder writes in TV-Digital issue 8 of April 4, 2008 that the harmless teenage romance is quite blatantly a star vehicle for the teenage crush Jimi Blue and, apart from her young hero, mainly comes up with clichés, with Jimi Blue , who released his first album at the end of 2007, is also allowed to sing in this film.

The German Film and Media Evaluation FBW in Wiesbaden awarded the film the title valuable.
