Sophie of Saxony (1845–1867)
Sophie Maria Friederike Auguste Leopoldine Alexandrine Ernestine Albertine Elisabeth (born March 15, 1845 in Dresden , † March 9, 1867 in Munich ) was a Princess of Saxony from the Albertine line of the Wettins and by marriage Duchess of Bavaria .
Life
Princess Sophie was the youngest daughter of King Johann I of Saxony and Princess Amalie Auguste of Bavaria .
She married her in Dresden on February 11, 1865 Cousin 1st and 3rd degree Herzog Karl Theodor in Bavaria , the son of Duke Maximilian of Bavaria and Princess Princess Ludovika of Bavaria .
After the birth of her first and only child, a daughter named Amalie in Bavaria , on December 24th, 1865, she became ailing and weaker and weaker until even the doctors had no hope and gave up. Sophie finally died of flu in March 1867 when she was not quite 22 years old .
She is buried in Tegernsee .
