Soslan Mairbekowitsch Kzojew ( Russian Сослан Маирбекович Кцоев ; born October 7, 1982 in Beslan ) is a Russian wrestler . In 2009 he was European champion in free style in middleweight (up to 84 kg body weight).

Career

Soslan Kzojew comes from North Ossetia and is a member of the Spartak Vladikavkas sports club . He is or was trained there by Chassan Apajew, Alan Abayev and Elbrus Dudajew. The 1.77 meter tall athlete weighs around 85 kg and wrestles in middleweight and exclusively in free style. He started wrestling in 1999. He is trained as a business economist, but is currently only engaged in wrestling.

Before his victory at the 2009 European Championships in Vilnius , where he was over 26 years old, Soslan Kzojew had not participated in any other international championships. He can therefore be described as a late starter on the international wrestling mat. Since 2005, however, he has already achieved victories or very good placements in some important international tournaments. So he won z. B. in 2007 at the "Dan Kolew" tournament in Sofia in front of Miroslaw Geschew from Bulgaria and Gennadi Laliew from Kazakhstan . In 2008 he won the Kiev Cup in front of Taras Danko from Ukraine and Rewas Mindorashvili from Georgia , who a few months later would become Olympic champion in Beijing .

Soslan Kzojew failed in 2008 when the rules as Russian qualify for the Olympic Games "Ivan Jarigin" tournament in Krasnoyarsk to Georgi Ketojew and finished in third place had to be in order but no chance for the Games in Beijing nominated. In 2009 he won this tournament in front of his compatriots Sergei Kirilenko, Anzor Urischew and Magomed Ibragimow and thus won the ticket to the European Championship in Vilnius , where he was the new European middleweight champion in a superior style . At the Russian championship in 2009 he had to be content with 3rd place behind Abdussalam Gadissow and Albert Saritow and was therefore not used at the world championship this year in Herning / Denmark .

At the start he was again at the 2010 World Cup in Moscow . He won there in the middleweight division over Donald Brown, Canada , David Bichinaschwili , Germany and Naurus Temresow , Azerbaijan , but lost in the semifinals to the surprise man Mikhail Ganew from Bulgaria . In the fight for the bronze medal, he then won over Piotr Janulow from Moldova . Before these world championships he was the Russian champion ahead of Ansor Urischew, Andrei Valiew and Aslan Unajew.

2011 occupied Soslan Kzojew in the Russian championship in the middleweight behind Albert Saritow and above Anzor Urischew and Georgi Rubajew the 2nd place.
