The Spessartskopf is a 552.3 m above sea level. NHN high mountain in the Odenwald , in elections in the district of Bergstrasse and Odenwaldkreis in Hesse .
geography
location
The Spessartskopf rises in the Bergstrasse-Odenwald Nature Park . Its summit is 1.4 km south-east of Wahlen , a district of the Grasellenbach municipality , the core of which is 2.5 km north-north-west. The Wald-Michelbacher district of Affolterbach is 1.9 km to the southwest , 2.8 km to the east-northeast is the Mossautal district of Güttersbach and 3 km to the south-southeast of the Oberzenter district of Olfen .
The Ulfenbach flows west past the Spessartkopf , and the Finkenbach rises on its eastern flank . On the northern slope of the mountain is a Siegfriedbrunnen , one of the many sources in the Odenwald, where Siegfried the forecast for from Hagen von Tronje to have been murdered.
Natural allocation
The Spessartskopf belongs to the natural spatial main unit group Odenwald, Spessart and Südrhön (No. 14), in the main unit Sandstein-Odenwald (144) and in the sub-unit Central Sandstone Odenwald (144.6) to the natural area Wegscheidekamm (144.65). Its landscape falls to the south-east into the natural area of the southern subdivided sandstone forest (144.60).
Mountain heights and crests
The Spessartskopf has two peaks: a north ( ⊙ ; 547.8 m ) and a south ( ⊙ ; 552.3 m ) knoll . The latter shows the mountain summit on the border of Grasellenbach and Wald-Michelbach, and this is adjoined in the southeast by the 526.4 m high spur of the Affolterbacher Höhe.
Protected areas
Parts of the Rotes Wasser von Olfen nature reserve extend to the eastern flank of the Spessartskopf ( CDDA no. 82448; designated in 1980; 12.09 hectares in size). There are also those of the fauna-flora-habitat area Rotes Wasser von Olfen with adjacent areas (FFH No. 6319-301; 20.18 ha).
