St. Anna is a Roman Catholic branch church in the Blankenheim district of Hüngersdorf in the Euskirchen district in North Rhine-Westphalia . The church building belongs to the parish of St. Johann Baptist , Ripsdorf .

The church is St. Mother Anna was consecrated and entered as a monument under number 94 in the list of architectural monuments in Blankenheim (Ahr) .

The branch church is located in the center of Hüngersdorf on Kapellenplatz.

history

A chapel in Hüngersdorf was first mentioned in the visit reports of the Archdiocese of Cologne from 1536. Neither the location nor the appearance of this chapel have survived. In any case, the chapel mentioned was replaced by the current church around 1657. Hüngersdorf has always belonged to the parish of St. Johann Baptist in Ripsdorf , but the chapel was owned by the civil parish until 1985 and only then became the property of the parish. In 1960 and 1986 the church was renovated and repaired.

Building description

St. Anna is a white plastered single-nave and four-axis hall church made of quarry stone in the Baroque style . The nave has a flat roof and closes in the east with a semicircular apse . A square roof turret with an eight-sided kink helmet rises above the west gable . There are 60 seats available for the faithful.

Furnishing

Inside there are two baroque wooden side altars from the 17th century and three wooden figures from the 17th century with depictions of St. Quirinus von Neuss , Hubertus von Lüttich and Cornelius .
