history

The current church was built in the 15th century. It is not known whether there was already a previous building; in any case, the small church was first mentioned in writing in 1495 when a foundation was set up. The church has been a branch church of Alendorf ever since, in the 18th century the pastor of Alendorf had to read Holy Mass in Waldorf . At that time, however, baptisms and weddings were not allowed here, this was reserved for the parish church in Alendorf. The Waldorf church remained unchanged for centuries, and it wasn't until the middle of the 20th century that the hall church became too small for the community. So it was decided to add two aisles to the church , which were finally built between 1970 and 1972 according to plans by the architect Werner Geyer .
