description

The Romanesque , stone-faced hall church with a choir tower in the west was built from rubble stones in the 13th century. In the first half of the 14th century it received a retracted choir with a yoke and a three-sided end with buttresses in the east . 1520-30 the church was rebuilt. In the second half of the 16th century there were further structural changes. In 1579 the northern staircase was added. The entrance to the south was established in 1589, as noted in an inscription there . The church tower has four floors , the top one, which contains the tower clock and the belfry, is clad with slate. On it rises a hood on which a lantern sits, which is crowned with a tower ball. The nave is covered with a gable roof. A storey in visible timber framework was added to the choir later . Only remnants of the tracery windows from the construction period have been preserved in the choir. Additions for the stairs and the sacristy were built to the northeast . The ground floor of the tower is covered with a ribbed vault, the keystone is decorated with foliage . The nave has a flat ceiling , over the two-storey galleries it is sloping. The pulpit from 1630 stands on the south side of the triumphal arch , Jesus Christ and the apostles are depicted in the parapets of the basket . The polygonal baptismal font from 1576 is made of sandstone. The organ has been on the west gallery since 1975, its front is from the 18th century. 1969–70 the church was renovated and the interior repainted.
