from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The St. James's Place Canary Wharf Classic in 2020 took place from 8 to 13 March 2020 in London's Canary Wharf in the UK instead. The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2019/20 and belonged to the PSA World Tour Gold category .

Last year's winner was Paul Coll , who did not run again. In the final, the two top seeded players met, world number leader Mohamed Elshorbagy and number two in the world, Ali Farag . Shorbagy, who had already won the tournament in 2018 , prevailed with 11: 8, 10:12, 11: 6 and 15:13 and thus secured the fourth title win of the current season and the 41st tournament victory overall on the World Tour.

The field of participants in the men's competition consisted of 24 players. The eight best players were seeded and given a bye in the first round. Per Wildcard got Richie Fallows a spot in the main draw. As in the previous year, the “best of three” format was used in the first round, in the last sixteen and in the quarter-finals, which means that only two sets were needed to achieve the overall victory. The semi-finals and the final were played in the “best of five” format.
