description

On the lower floors of the church tower of the previous church , a stone-faced hall church with three-sided closure of the choir in the east was added in 1486 . The tower, in the southwest corner of the nave stands was in 1652 increased . There were structural changes in 1566 and 1690. In 1815 the interior was redesigned and renovated from 1993 to 1997. In 1926/27, the choir received new glazing as part of a renovation . In 1927/28 the mosaic glass windows were built into the nave, designed by Paul Birr and Ernst Kraus. The nave is covered with a high pitched roof. The bell tower has a slate hood on which a lantern sits. Three chilled cast iron bells by Schilling & Lattermann from 1923 ring in the tower today. One of the treasures of this church is the clock tower , which was made shortly after the Thirty Years War . It not only strikes the 1/4, 1/2 and full hour, but at the full hour, preceded by the 4/4 strikes, there are special strikes. The choir has a groin vault , as does the three-sided closed tomb below it. There are several tombs and epitaphs in the choir . The ogival portal is on the south side of the church . An inscription on the eastern side indicates that construction began in 1486. The interior is covered with a wooden barrel vault. Two-story galleries were built in the north in 1681 and a three- story gallery in the west. The organ is on the third west gallery . The first organ was built in 1569 on the 1st north gallery. In 1704 a new one was built by Johann Weißhaupt. This has 22 registers , divided into 2 manuals and pedal . In 1744 the organ was rebuilt by Wilhelm Christoph Trebs. In 1857/58 it was rebuilt by Karl Friedrich Peternell and moved to the third west gallery. The pulpit on the south wall was built around 1630 during the Renaissance . It is decorated with sculptural figures of evangelists under round arches .
