National debt ratio in Albania

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The national debt ratio of Albania indicates the relationship between the Albanian national debt on the one hand and the Albanian nominal gross domestic product on the other.

Development in recent years

Albania's national debt ratio rose between 2008 and 2013 due to the financial crisis and, above all, an expansive fiscal policy . Whereas the national debt of 595.9 billion Albanian lek at the end of 2008 corresponded to a national debt ratio of 56.1%, the national debt ratio at the end of 2013, given a debt level of then 948.3 billion Albanian lek, reached a value of 70.5%.

Forecast development

The International Monetary Fund assumes that the national debt ratio of Albania will decrease to 56.4% by the end of 2019, with a debt level of then 1,106.4 billion Albanian Lek.
