National debt ratio in Norway

The national debt ratio of Norway indicates the relationship between the Norwegian national debt on the one hand and the Norwegian nominal gross domestic product on the other.

Development in recent years

Norway's national debt ratio fell between 2008 and 2013. While the national debt of 1.244.3 billion Norwegian kroner at the end of 2008 corresponded to a national debt ratio of 48.6%, the national debt ratio at the end of 2013 reached a value of 29.5% given the debt level of 888.8 billion Norwegian kroner.

Forecast development

The International Monetary Fund assumes that the national debt ratio of Norway will remain constant at 29.5% until the end of 2019 with a debt level of 1,157.5 billion Norwegian kroner.
