National debt ratio in Croatia

The national debt ratio of Croatia indicates the relationship between Croatian national debt on the one hand and Croatian nominal gross domestic product on the other.

Development in recent years

Croatia's national debt ratio increased between 2008 and 2013 due to the financial crisis . Whereas the national debt of 100.6 billion kunas at the end of 2008 corresponded to a national debt ratio of 29.3%, the national debt ratio at the end of 2013 reached a value of 60.2% in view of a debt level of 196.8 billion kuna.

Forecast development

The International Monetary Fund assumes that Croatia's national debt ratio will increase to 69.0% by the end of 2019, with a debt level of then 264.2 billion kuna.
