Public debt ratio in Serbia

The national debt ratio of Serbia indicates the relationship between the Serbian national debt on the one hand and the Serbian nominal gross domestic product on the other.

Development in recent years

Serbia's national debt ratio increased between 2008 and 2013 due to the financial crisis . While the national debt of 888.7 billion Serbian dinars at the end of 2008 corresponded to a national debt ratio of 33.4%, the national debt ratio at the end of 2013 reached a value of 65.8% in view of the debt level of then 2,380.8 billion Serbian dinars.

Forecast development

The International Monetary Fund assumes that Serbia's national debt ratio will increase to 88.9% by the end of 2019, with a debt level of 4,394.2 billion Serbian dinars.
