Public debt ratio in Belarus

The national debt ratio of Belarus indicates the ratio between Belarusian national debt on the one hand and Belarusian nominal gross domestic product on the other.

Development in recent years

Belarus's national debt ratio rose between 2008 and 2013 due to the financial crisis . Whereas the national debt of 27,957.9 billion Belarusian rubles at the end of 2008 corresponded to a national debt ratio of 21.5%, the national debt ratio at the end of 2013 reached a value of 37.0% in view of a debt level of 235,613.7 billion Belarusian rubles.

Forecast development

The International Monetary Fund assumes that the national debt ratio of Belarus will increase to 43.0% by the end of 2019, with a debt level of then 865,944.3 billion Belarusian rubles.
