Alt Budkowitz ( Polish Stare Budkowice , 1936-1945 Alt Baudendorf ) is a village in Upper Silesia . Alt Budkowitz is located in the municipality of Murow in the Opolski powiat in the Polish Opole Voivodeship .

Geographical location
Alt Budkowitz is about eight kilometers east of the municipality in Murow and about 25 kilometers north of the district town and voivodeship capital Opole . The place is located in the middle of a large forest area that belongs to the Stobrawski Landscape Protection Park . The Budkowitzer Bach (Polish Budkowiczanka ), a left tributary of the Stober (Polish Stobrawa ), flows through Alt Budkowitz .

The hamlet of Morczinek (Polish: Morcinek ) and the Vorwerk Reilswerk (Polish: Wojszyn ) belong to the village of Tauenzinow .

To the west of Alt Budkowitz is the Reilswerk (Polish: Wojszyn ) plant. Dambinietz (Polish: Dębiniec ) is located in the northeast, the village of Grabczok in the south and Neu Budkowitz (Polish: Nowe Budkowice ) in the southeast .
history
The village of Alt Budkowitz was first mentioned as Budtkhowitze in 1532 .
In 1713 a church was built in the village.
In 1845 there was a Catholic church, a Catholic school, two tar ovens and another 132 houses in the village. In 1845, 891 people lived in Alt Budkowitz, three of them Protestant and eleven Jewish. In 1874 the district of Alt Budkowitz was founded. The first head of office was the royal forest treasurer Sollor.
In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 961 eligible voters voted to remain with Germany and 267 for Poland. Old Budkowitz remained with the German Empire . In 1933 there were 1631 inhabitants. On May 19, 1936, the place was renamed Alt Baudendorf . In 1939 the place had 1668 inhabitants. Until 1945 the place was in the district of Opole .
In 1945 the previously German place came under Polish administration, was renamed Stare Budkowice and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship and in 1999 to the re-established Powiat Opolski . In March 2009, the place was also given the official German place name Alt Budkowitz .
Attractions
- The Roman Catholic Rochuskirche was built in 1847. A first church was built in 1713 on the same site. In 1827 the independent parish Alt Budkowitz was founded. The current building was consecrated on November 11, 1847. In the 1950s and 1990s, extensive renovation work took place on the church building. The church has been a listed building since 1959.
