Stefan Schauer (born January 12, 1983 in Schongau ) is a former German ice hockey player who played 229 games for the Kölner Haie and Nürnberg Ice Tigers from the German Ice Hockey League during his active career between 1999 and 2007 .

Career

At the age of 17, Schauer made his debut in the 2nd Bundesliga at SC Riessersee in 2000 . There he played until 2002. Already during the NHL Entry Draft 2001 he was selected by those in charge of the Ottawa Senators in the fifth round at a total of 162nd position. For the 2002/03 season he moved to the Kölner Haien , played in his two years, which the left-handed shooter was under contract with the KEC, but often with a support license at EV Duisburg , which were then active in the 2nd Bundesliga.

In the summer of 2004 he joined the Nürnberg Ice Tigers , where he had a contract until the end of the 2009/10 season . His contract was terminated on August 1, 2008 for health reasons. Because of ongoing health problems, he was unable to play a game for the Ice Tigers in the German Ice Hockey League after January 7, 2007.

International

Stefan Schauer is also a 34-time German national player and represented Germany at the 2005 World Cup in Austria and at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin .
